                                                 Brown fused alumina

1 Description

Brown Aluminium Oxide is fused in an electrical arc furnace at high temperature (approximately 2000 degrees Celsius) from a mixture of bauxite ,coal, iron scrap. Its appearance is brown colour.

It is characterized by great toughness, high mechanical resistance and high hardness (9 in Mohs scale). The micro hardness of the material reaches about 1900kG/mm2.

Specific gravity (density) equals 3.90+/-0.05cm3. Bulk density depending on size equals 1.52-1.87g/cm3. It has relatively high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion.

It is the perfect material specifically manufactured to be used for general abrasive applications in bonded and coated abrasive tools, lapping and polishing industry. It is also used as a raw material in the manufacture of high alumina refractory.

 

2 Application

 a. Bonded abrasive products.

 b  coated abrasive products such as sand paper, sand cloth, roll, sand belt, flap wheel,etc..

 c   Vitrified bonded grinding wheels and resin bonded grinding wheels.

 d  Pressure blasting, surface finish, sandblasting

 e  Various polishing application such as glass carving, rust removing, jean cloth grinding.

 f  Wear-resistant and fire-proof products.

 g  Friction products and abrasion resistance ground

 h  Producing mold of precision casting

The grains of this kind of product crashed by ball mill machine, its grain shape is more blocky than rolling machine made grains, but its bulk density is less than BMK machine made grains. With the medium loose bulk density, and after wind blowing dust collection way, strong magnetism removing, very carefully sieve classifying, this kind of abrasive grain normally can match the various Bonded Abrasive Products applications
